The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation claims there are more than 400 people waiting for beds in Ireland's hospitals today.

INMO figures show more than 400 patients waiting for hospital beds

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation claims there are more than 400 people waiting for beds in Ireland's hospitals today.

The INMO's daily Trolleywatch figures show that 420 people are awaiting a hospital bed, 335 are on trolleys while 85 are in overflow wards.

The statistics highlight University Hospital Limerick as the hospital with the most patients waiting for beds, 49 in all.

Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar has 37 patients waiting, while 33 are waiting for a bed in University Hospital Galway.
