A 49-year-old man arrested earlier today by gardaí investigating the seizure of a shotgun at Beechmount Ave, Drogheda last month has been released without charge.

Update 10.25pm: A 49-year-old man arrested earlier today by gardaí investigating the seizure of a shotgun at Beechmount Ave, Drogheda last month has been released without charge.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A boy also arrested is still detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Drogheda Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

Update 10.24am: Gardaí investigating the seizure of a shotgun have arrested two men.

A shotgun was seized by gardaí at Beechwood Avenue in Drogheda on July 8 last.

This morning, two men - one aged in his 40s and a youth - were arrested.

The two are being detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
