Gardaí appeal for information on 5th anniversary of fatal hit and run

On the 5th anniversary of a fatal hit and run in county Monaghan, gardaí are renewing their appeal for information.

20-year-old Fintan Treanor was knocked down and killed as he made his way home at Lemgare, Clontibret after 3am on Sunday 26 June 2011.

No-one ever came forward.

Detective Inspector James O'Leary from Monaghan Garda station is appealing for information on a certain type of car: “We believe from our investigations that an old style Audi A4 which was produced from 1995-2001, was involved in this hit and run.”

“We have a portion of the vehicle which has been identified from that model.”
