Two men have been injured in a gas explosion in South County Dublin.

A gas mains is believed to have gone on fire outside the Applegreen petrol station on the Knocklyon Road this afternoon.

Emergency services and Gas Networks Ireland crews are at the scene and Knocklyon Road is currently closed to traffic in both directions between Firhouse Road and Scholarstown Road.

Neither of the men, who were taken to Tallaght Hospital, is believed to have been seriously hurt.
