'Fine Gael and Labour are talking rubbish' says Micheál Martin

Fine Gael and Labour are talking rubbish when it comes to reform of the health service.

That was the clear message from Fianna Fail Leader Micheál Martin in County Cork today.

He said they did a u-turn on Universal Health care and promised free GP care for everyone which they back-tracked on.

Speaking in Youghal, Micheál Martin said the coalition promises on improving the Irish Health were never believable.

“They promised us five years ago, free GP care for everyone, universal free GP care.

“They promised that five years ago, Fine Gael did now Leo Varadkar is saying it is not possible even within the next five years.

“Impossible he said because you would need 2,000 GPs according to an independent report.

“Yet they are partners in Government, Joan Burton and the Labour party are saying we can actually do this, in five years we can actually have private GP care.

“So that is clearly a rubbish promise.”
