There were a lot of preparations for the Cork city parade.

And, as you can see, it was all worth it.

Just down the road, Carrigaline was holding celebrations of their own.

The crowds were out in Bantry.

Another Cork town Clonakilty enjoyed its parade also.

He had some help from young supporters in the Cork town.

As did some of the locals on Leeside.

The revellers in Fermoy, Co. Cork, were eager to get started.

Mark Hamill was having a ball at the Dublin parade.

And he had his fans, too.

The parade in Fermoy had loads of colour.

There was plenty of craic to be had at the Waterford City parade this afternoon.

Grey skies but all smiles in Killarney.

"It sure is cold but nevertheless we won't let it dampen our spirits," St Patrick himself told the people of Skibbereen, Co. Cork.

There was plenty of dancing at the Macroom parade in Cork.
