The journalist Vincent Browne has led reporters on to solicitor Brian O'Donnell's Gorse Hill property in South Dublin, hours before the deadline for him to leave the premises.

The High Court imposed a 4pm deadline for Mr O'Donnell to leave the premises. Earlier this afternoon, the media congregated outside the property.

"Come on in, lads," Browne told his media colleagues after forcing his way through the gate. "This is bank property."

"Wimps!" he declared as he remained inside alone - though eventually others followed.

Representatives of the group calling themselves the Land League claim Mr O'Donnell still has no intention of leaving, despite owing over €70m to Bank of Ireland.

This afternoon, Vincent Browne led reporters through the gates of the house and onto the property.

The gates were then closed behind the journalists who had entered, effectively sealing them inside the grounds for a short period.

Brian O’Donnell was told by the High Court that he and his wife Mary Patricia had until 4pm today to leave the house, after an application by his children to stop the repossession was rejected yesterday.

A notice of trespass was nailed to the gates last night, but Mr O’Donnell has told the Land League he has no intention of leaving.

Since this afternoon’s developments, the Land League says he and his wife feel "besieged".
