Poll sees Labour support rise while SF slips

Labour is seeing its support increase in a new opinion poll.

The Millward Brown poll for the Sunday Independent shows a drop in support for Sinn Féin but little change for other parties.

The poll was conducted between September 9 and 18, so mostly before the latest economic figures which were good news for the coalition.

Fine Gael is unchanged on the last Sunday Independent poll from early August on 25%.

The news is better for the junior coalition party with Labour up two points to 9% - the party's highest rating since last January.

Fianna Fáil go up one point to 21%, but remain behind Sinn Féin who drop two to 22%.

Independents and others are unchanged on 23%.
