Gardaí detected 96 motorists speeding on Irish roads as part of 'Operation Slow Down' earlier this morning.

'Operation Slow Down' catches 96 motorists speeding

Gardaí detected 96 motorists speeding on Irish roads as part of 'Operation Slow Down' earlier this morning.

During the first three and a half hours of the initiative, between 7am to 10.30, gardaí checked 20,227 vehicles.

Checkpoints will be mounted across the country over the weekend and Gardaí are urging motorists to slow down this bank holiday.
