Missing jet-skier located in Dublin

In Dublin, the Coast Guard have located a missing jet-skier and his submerged craft, north off Ireland's Eye.

Howth lifeboat brought him back to shore where an ambulance was waiting, however the casualty was wearing a life jacket and didn't have any serious injuries.

The alert was raised around 3.30pm this afternoon, when the Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter and Howth RNLI lifeboats all responded.

As the rescue operation was ending, crews noticed that members of the public were in danger of being washed over by waves breaking on the East Pier in Howth.

One person was assisted back to safety, and the Coast Guard then maintained a position on the pier until the high tide receded.

The public are being warned to remain aware of the unpredictability of breaking waves, when walking along coastal routes.
