260 beds opened to tackle homelessness

The Peter McVerry Trust has said 260 emergency homeless beds - opened today - will only last for six months as people become homeless over time.

Two weeks ago the coalition announced the extra beds, under a €20m euro action plan to tackle the homeless crisis.

That commitment is being fulfilled with the Trust opening two centres in Dublin and Kildare today.
