Taoiseach tweets back after lengthy silence

The Taoiseach has rejoined Twitter.

After a three-year absence from the social media network, Enda Kenny surprised his followers this evening by posting a message.

He said: "Twitter, it's been a while... but it's time to talk about the #littlethings"

It is believed he was referring to the Little Things Hub - a social media mental health initiative.

Enda Kenny first joined twitter in April 2010 but stopped tweeting when he became Taoiseach.

He has just over 20,000 followers.
