Ministers to launch reform of ESL education sector

English language schools are coming under the spotlight today.

It follows the closure of a number of private sector colleges earlier this year.

The Government will outline measures to prevent the abuse of immigration procedures, which was highlighted when several Irish-based English language schools closed, leaving hundreds of students in limbo.

The Ministers for Education and Justice will launch the reform this afternoon.

Jan O'Sullivan and Frances Fitzgerald will also publish the final report of the taskforce which was established to help students affected by the closures.
