A man has been assaulted during a burglary at his home in Belfast.

A man has been assaulted during a burglary at his home in Belfast.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the householder was hit on the head after two men forced their way into the property in Westrock Gardens at about 11.40pm last night.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Madden said: “He was hit over the head. The injured male then ran out of the house, where he was further assaulted.”

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency 101 number.
