Ireland has made history by putting the issue of marriage equality to a popular vote, and we are about to find out if it has passed.

Tallies from around the country are expected to come in around mid-morning.

The first count in the by-election is expected around 4pm, while the result of the Presidential Age referendum is anticipated to be declared around 90 minutes after the Marriage referendum result.
