A man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Co Galway.

A man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Co Galway.

Around €300,000 worth of Cannabis plants were discovered in what is been described as a sophisticated grow house when gardaí carried out a planned search of a house in the Mountbellew area earlier today.

Other drug paraphernalia and two firearms were also recovered.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.

A man, in his mid 40s, was arrested at the scene is currently detained at Ballinasloe Garda Station.
