Gardaí make arrest after six separate raids in three counties that unearth illegal drugs

Gardaí have seized drugs in a total of six raids carried out today in counties Kildare, Carlow and Dublin.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí conducted the six searches today as part of Operation Thor, targetting organised crime gangs in the Dublin area.

Searches were carried out in Kildare, Carlow and Dublin - and small quantities of illegal drugs were seized in all six raids.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and it brings the number of people detained this week under Operation Thor to 36.

Gardaí say the successful operation is based on co-ordinated crime prevention and enforcement activity based on intelligence.

They are continuing to urge members of the public to report any suspicious activity to their local station - or ring the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
