A man has been arrested in County Clare following the seizure of almost €700,000 worth of cannabis.

A man has been arrested in County Clare following the seizure of almost €700,000 worth of cannabis.

Gardaí say 34kgs of cannabis herb was discovered at a property in the Kilkee area earlier today, and a 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He is being held for questioning at Kilrush Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficing act.

The cannabis has an estimated street value of €680,000 and was discovered as part of an ongoing operation by Clare Gardaí in to the sale and supply of drugs.
