Burton: NAMA need to 'get real' on developers' bonuses

The Tánaiste says NAMA needs to "get real" if they are considering paying bonuses to developers.

The boss of the agency said during the week it is considering the payments to a few developers who work with NAMA.

122 developers who are debtors are getting an income from NAMA, including some paid over 150,000 a year.

"If they are suggesting to Government - which I don't believe they are, they just said it's a possibility - but if they're suggesting that a priority in relation to bonus payments should be developers, frankly, I'd be astonished," Joan Burton said.

"I think there's an issue of priorities here, and the priority has to be people like our pensioners.

"I'd say to NAMA, on this: get real."
