Court hears Elaine O'Hara's flat had two heavy metal chains, a rope and PVC bodysuit

The Central Criminal Court has heard heavy metal chains, a rope and a pvc body suit were found at Elaine O'Hara's Dublin apartment after her disappearance.

42-year-old architect Graham Dwyer of Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies murdering the childcare worker in the Dublin mountains on August 22, 2012.

Two days after her alleged murder Gardaí found two heavy metal chains in a locker by Elaine O'Hara's bedside.

During a search of her Stepaside apartment retired detective Ultan Sherlock said there was also a rope and a black pvc bodysuit in the living room.

At that stage the 36-year-old was considered a missing person – her car had been located at Shanganagh cemetery and detectives were hoping to find anything that might shed light on her whereabouts.

It is the prosecution's case that Elaine O'Hara was engaged in a sado-machistic relationship with Graham Dwyer and that he stabbed her at Killakee for his own sexual gratification.

Earlier a garda appointed as family liaison officer to the O'Hara's said there was a time before her body was found that her relatives began to accept that she probably took her own life.
