Average price of 3-bed-semi rises to €200k

The average price of a three bed semi has risen to €200,000 for the first time since the property crash.

Data from Real Estate Alliance shows prices in Dublin have jumped by almost 3% since June to €373,000.

The average Semi will cost you €68,000 in Longford - compared to €175,000 in Limerick - a rise of almost 5%.

Michael O'Connor from Real Estate Alliance says the lack of supply is a huge factor: "While I appreciate that in the budget next month the minister is trying to come up with some incentives, I believe that really we have to concentrate on supply.

"That's where our problem is, there is no point giving incentives to buyers, it's great but all it is doing is upping the demand and there is nothing happening with the supply and obviously prices are going to continue to go up."
