Gardaí have charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a Post Office in north Dublin.

Gardaí have charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a Post Office in north Dublin.

The man was arrested in the Portmarnock area, shortly after a gang attempted to rob a post office in Baldoyle on Friday afternoon.

He is due to appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow morning.

In a separate case, a 24-year-old man is due in court tomorrow, charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in Dublin city centre yesterday.

He's charged in connection with a robbery at a business premises on Lombard Street East, during which a man armed with a knife stole a quantity of cash.
