Latest: Gardaí investigating the death of a 74-year-old man, discovered at a house in Dublin last night, have arrested a 47-year-old male.

Gardaí in Ronanstown arrested the man this evening and he is being detained at Lucan Garda station.

Last night, Gardaí were called to a house in Rowlagh Green in Clondalkin at around 8.45pm where the 74-year-old man was found with serious injuries.

It is believed there was an earlier domestic dispute at the house.

The man was taken to Tallaght hospital where he died a short time later.

Gardaí wish to appeal to witnesses or to anyone who can assist with the investigation to contact the Incident Room at Ronanstown Garda Station on 01 6667700, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Earlier: Man (74) dies following 'domestic dispute' in Dublin

A 74-year-old man has died after he was found with serious injuries at a house in Dublin last night.

Gardaí were called to a house in Rowlagh Green in Clondalkin at around 8.45pm.

It is believed there was an earlier domestic dispute at the house.

The man was taken to Tallaght hospital where he died a short time later.

The scene has been preserved for a technical exam and a post-mortem is due to be carried out this morning.
