Seanad told 'no such babies as babies with fatal foetal abnormality'
The Seanad's been told there are "no such babies as babies with fatal foetal abnormality".
Renua Ireland senator Paul Bradford says the words should not be used, as no such circumstances exist.
He was reacting to yesterday's court ruling in the North, which found that not allowing abortion in such cases was a breach of human rights.
He says arguments similar to his could have been made during the debates on Ireland's last abortion law in 2013.
"We're talking about babies that have a very life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
"They are human beings and at least one grouping representing parents who had such babies, babies who might have lived a day, a week, a month, attempted to make their views known to the Oireachtas health committee here two short years ago and we're not allowed do so."
