Sinn Féin refused to let Dáil business continue until the Tánaiste withdrew claims linking a serial child abuser to the Republican movement.
In Cork this afternoon, Joan Burton said if Sinn Féin were in government, they would end up walking out on themselves.
"I would imagine that from this point in time, and from their behaviour currently, that Sinn Féin aren't particularly interested in being involved in Government in the Republic," she said.
"I think they've found a comfortable niche at the moment in terms of just pulling stunts.
"Were they in Government, would they have to be constantly walking out on themselves?
"Yesterday's [incident] was just an outrageous waste of time, in relation to a very sensitive and important issue in respect of people who have been subject to abuse.
"I was very upset that such an issue like that would be raised without any prior notification."
