Irish author Anne Enright is in contention for the Man Booker Prize.
Her novel The Green Road is one of 13 books vying for one of the literary world's most prestigious awards.
It is described as a darkly glinting novel set in Co Clare and is a story of fracture and family, selfishness and compassion.
Enright previously won the award for her novel The Gathering in 2007.

The shortlist will be announced on Tuesday September 15 and the winner will be announced on Tuesday October 13.
