Charities have today called for a restoration of funding for community services and supports.
A recent survey found that over a third have seen their income drop in the past year.
With just two weeks to go until the Budget is unveiled, charities are asking for more funding.
"We still have over 16,000 young people who have been unemployed for a year or more so we're calling on the Government to invest in that," said James Doorley, deputy director of the National Youth Council of Ireland.
"And finally, we're calling for investment of €20m in services to address the growing numbers of young people, particularly young people ages 18-24 who are finding themselves homeless because of welfare cuts, because of lack of service, particularly for young people leaving care."
