Dermot Bannon turns down Dancing with the Stars despite being a big fan

Dermot Bannon has revealed that he has turned down the chance to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars every year, despite being a big fan.

The in-demand architectural expert spoke to Breakfast Republic on RTÉ 2fm this morning about his new show 'Incredible Homes', the return of 'Room to improve' and his love of Irish reality TV.

He revealed the Bannon family are obsessed with the show Ireland’s Fittest Family and when asked if he would take part in the show, the presenter was unsure of his abilities.

I don’t think I would make it up the ramp

Although he did confirm that there was some wavering when asked to do RTÉ's ‘Dancing With The Stars’, a show he says he watches every week.

Asked if he would ever take part, he simply said “I don’t know if I would, I did a week of it (dance rehearsals) before for a one-off special for the Late Late Show, for charity and it's incredibly hard. No one realises how difficult it is”

Let us never forget:

When pushed to confirm if he’s been officially asked, Dermot finally confirmed: "Yes, every year".

The radio show then pushed Bannon to pick his favourite out of this year’s contestants and sadly, there was some favouritism involved.

He described TV and radio presenter Mairead Ronan as a friend and said he'd love for her to win.
