Eighteen-year-old Chris Leonard is allegedly the only Irish singer to make it through to this year's X Factor live shows.
Meath-born Chris - who used to be a member of Dublin boyband 5th Base - is said to have secured a spot in Simon Cowell’s newest creation along with seven others and has been whisked away to Louis Walsh’s abode for the judges' houses stage of the competition.
Simon hopes his new supergroup reaches a similar success to One Direction - who were also formed on the TV hit show.
"'The boys were the strongest category by far at boot camp and it really hurt the judges to say goodbye to so much talent. In the end they decided to make the extra boys into one big group. Between the eight of them they’ve got everything they need to be a success," a source told The Sun.

Insiders said that Chris stole the show when he performed in front of Louis and is seen as a young Ronan Keating.
We can see why!
