Those all important Electric Picnic band clashes

Don't worry we have the some solutions

Those all important Electric Picnic band clashes

Friday

Underworld (Main Stage, 10.30pm - Midnight) V Joey Negro (Casa Bacardi, 10pm - Midnight)

Friday isn’t known for an abundance of clashes - given that there’s relatively little going on! But there’ll be more than a few danceheads who would have been hoping to go to both of these acts.

The full-on delights of Underworld or the future-disco glee of Joey Negro? It’s a tough one.

Solution: Well, it depends what you’re more into really. Casa Bacardi isn’t for everyone, so that could make up your mind.

If you’re splitting your time between the two, then catching the end of Underworld is definitely the way to go.

Saturday

Roisin Murphy (Electric Arena, 00.30am - 1.45am) V The 2 Bears (Little Big Tent 00.15am - 1.30am)

Fans of deliberately odd electronica will have to make a call here. National Treasure Roisin Murphy in the massive Electric Arena, or up-and-comers The 2 Bears in the less carnivorous surrounds of the Little Big Tent.

Solution: It really comes down to your energy levels - The 2 Bears will be more four-to-the-floor, so if you’re in the mood to dance, you’re probably better of catching most of their set, then popping off to see the more up-tempo crescendo of Roisin’s set.

Hot Chip (Main stage 8:30-9:30pm) V Chvrches (Electric Arena 9-10pm)

Ah, this is an awkward one. Plenty of crossover in fanbases here. Hot Chip are the bigger draw, so if you just plump for Chvrches you could get a nice spot in the Arena at around 8.50pm.

Solution: Leave Hot Chip between 9-9.25pm, depending how things are going. Avoid the tide of people and possible overcrowding at the Electric Arena by not leaving it till 9.30pm or after. Or just skip Chvrches altogether and go straight to Meltybrains at the B&S stage after Hot Chip.

Ride (Electric Arena, 10.30pm - 11.45pm) V Sultans of Ping (Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow, 11-12pm)

Oh dear, the old-school indieheads won’t like this one. They’ll have decide which Vengabus-free zone where to be nostalgic about the 90s and it’s not an easy one. It’ll probably come down to whether you’re from Cork or not.

The one consolation is that the two stages are actually quite close (presuming you can find the Electric Sideshow that is).

Solution: Given the small size of the Electric Sideshow, you may want to give most of the Ride set a miss to even get in to see the Sultans in action. Madness awaits there.

Sunday

Le Galaxie (Rankin's Wood Stage 11pm-12pm) V Julio Bashmore (Little Big Tent, 11pm-12pm)

Ouch. The “perfect” clash here. Any time spent going from one to the other will be a waste of valuable dancing time, so you really should just plump for one.

Solution: Well, Mano Le Tough is playing Little Big Tent at 10pm, right before Julio Bashmore, while that clashes with Young Wonder (B&S Main Stage 10.15pm). So you may want to just get your spot in LBT from 10pm if you want to see Mano Le Tough too, or if you prefer Young Wonder then go see them before Le Galaxie?
