Cork festival releases roster for 2020

A busy summer music schedule just got a little bit more crowded as It Takes A Village (ITAV) in Co. Cork released its line-up for the 2020 event.

The third incarnation of the festival at Trabolgan Holiday Village will be one of the first events of the season, taking place from May 8-10.

A particularly strong house music line-up sees US dance legend Joe Claussell join forces with local heroes Fish Go Deep for an extended set, with British DJ/producer Romare also on the line-up.

Claussell is one of the most respected names in the New York house scene, being one of the main movers behind the Body & Soul event in his native city, and his visits to Sir Henrys in the 1990s are remembered by Cork afficionadoes as among the best guest spots at the now defunct club.

For more of a reggae vibe, Mad Professor, best known for his work with Massive Attack, will also be testing the bass bins at Trabolgan.

ITAV has become known for bringing some left-of-centre artists to east Cork, and that space will be filled next year by Altin Gün, an Amsterdam-based Turkish psychedelic folk band.

Irish hip-hop is also well represented, with scene innovators Scary Eire, and the west coast duo of God Knows and Denise Chaila.

Pillow Queens were hailed as one of the best Irish indie bands of the past year, and Kerry's finest alt.folk artist Junior Brother will also be present.

Tickets are on sale already, with weekend bookings tied into the chalet accommodation at the site, and day tickets available for the Sunday only.
