It’s about that time of year again, when every nook and cranny of Cork City comes alive with the sounds of Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, which takes place from Thursday, October 24 to Monday, October 28.

And as Corkonians rush to polish glasses, sweep stages and tune guitars in preparation for the annual arrival of over 1,000 musicians and jazz fans from around the world, all that’s left for you to do is, get your Jazz-hands ready.

The festivities intend to get heated this Friday with the ‘Blaze of Jazz Parade’ from Cork’s Grand Parade to Emmet Place.

The parade will deliver a New Orleans some of the world's finest marching bands along Grand Parade, down Oliver Plunkett Street, up Maylor Street to St Patrick’s Street and finish at Emmet Place.

Stars headlining this year include Kurt Elling, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Booka Brass Band, Spyro Gyra and Jenny Greene.
