Ireland's biggest maritime festival has been taking Cork city by storm this weekend.

SeaFest, which has been drawing more than 100,000 people into the city, celebrates Ireland's maritime heritage, with more than 100 free family-friendly attractions.

People from over 90 countries have flooded into the city by the Lee for the festival's vessel tours, film screenings, and interactive exhibitions.

The festival, which was held in Galway for the last few years, will conclude tomorrow with the Oceans Wealth Summit and special guests include John Kerry, former US Secretary of State, Former President Mary Robinson and the Presidents, Foreign Ministers or UN Ambassadors from 31 SIDS (Small Island Developing States).

Raising awareness of the need to protect our marine environment against plastic pollution, Bord Iascaigh Mhara’s centrepiece at SeaFest is the Clean Oceans Experience.

Funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, the installation includes the 60kg plastic hut sculpture.
