Figures show extent of Covid-19 impact on Ryanair's passenger numbers

Ryanair traffic in May fell by 99.5% to 70,000 passengers.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the airline operated just 701 scheduled flights in May, compared to a budgeted number of 70,000.

These included a number of rescue and medical flights on behalf of various EU governments.

Ryanair says it also expects minimal traffic in June, due to flight bans and restrictions in the EU.
