Irish aviation firms begin trade mission in Russia

Growing opportunities for Irish companies in the Russian aviation sector are the focus of an Enterprise Ireland trade mission getting underway today.

The trade mission, which is based in Moscow, has been organised with the support of the Irish embassy in Russia and includes 20 Irish-based, aviation companies.

The aviation industry in Ireland is directly responsible for 26,000 jobs with an estimated further 16,000 jobs supported in the aviation supply chain, contributing €4.1bn euro to Ireland’s GDP.

The trade mission is being led by the Minister of State for Commuter and Public Transport, Alan Kelly TD.
