IKEA to open second store in Dublin

IKEA is to open a second outlet in Dublin this summer.

The new order and collection point in Carrickmines is part of the furniture firm's plans to further explore the Irish market.

The new outlet will act primarily as a planning studio - to plan and order more complex purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas.

The outlet will not carry the full product range found at the existing store in Ballymun, but customers in the Carrickmines store will be able to order from Ballymun for home delivery or for collection at the collection point.

In addition, a small range of products will be available for customers to take home.

It will also offer free wi-fi and a small selection of take-home Swedish Food Market products.

The firm says recruitment for a team of 30 workers has now begun for the new store which will be located just off Junction 15 of the M50.
