Google's parent Alphabet is in advanced talks to lease an additional 70,000 square feet in buildings close to its €1 billion new headquarters in King's Cross, London, The Times reported on Tuesday. The tech giant has also agreed to extend a lease at Central Saint Giles, an office development near Tottenham Court Road, for a further decade, the report said. The move comes weeks after Google halted plans to rent an office space in Dublin. The tech giant made the decision to not take out the lease on the Sorting Office in Grand Canal Dock. It is believed the office space would have capacity for up to 2,000 staff members.

Google currently employs 8,000 people in Ireland.
