Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident in Sligo town.

A number of shots were fired through the window of a house on Joe McDonnell Drive in Cranmore, at around 4 o'clock this morning.

A man and a woman and two children were in the house at the time, but no one was injured.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and so far so arrests have been made.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
