Four men in their 20s will appear before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellers in north Dublin.

Four men in their 20s will appear before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellers in north Dublin.

Four men armed with hammers, entered a shop on Drogheda Street in Balbriggan on Friday evening, threatened staff and caused extensive damage to the store.

They escaped with a large quantity of jewellery but were arrested a short time later by gardaí on the M1 motorway and the jewellery was recovered.

Five men were arrested but one of them, who is in his 50s, has since been released without charge and a file has been prepared for the DPP.

The four other men will appear in court tomorrow morning.
