We won't pay for Donald Trump's wall, says Mexican Ambassador to Ireland
The Mexican Ambassador to Ireland says his country will not pay for a wall between it and the United States.
Miguel Malfavón said that while Mexico was not happy with how the campaign was run, it is ready to work with President-elect Donald Trump.
During the election campaign, Mr Trump said he would force Mexico to pay for a wall to stop illegal immigration between the two countries.
But speaking this evening, Ambassador Malfavón played down concerns over the structure.
"We have 58 border crossings between the two countries," he said.
"I mean, the possibilities for having opportunities to grow are there.
"Certainly, we were not very happy with the way that election was conducted, but in a way we understood it's just an election time.
"But now that the election is over we are ready to start working with the new administration."
