Daylight hammer attack leaves man critical in Limerick

A man in his 30s is in a critical condition in Limerick after an attack in the city this afternoon.

A man in his 30s is in a critical condition in Limerick after an attack in the city this afternoon.

He was attacked at 3.30pm on Edward Street in the city with a blunt implement believed to be a hammer.

The man, who thought to be from Limerick, is in the University Hospital, Limerick in a critical condition.

No arrests have yet been made and gardai at Roxboro road are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
