Gardaí in Limerick are appealing for information following a shooting incident at Hyde Road in Ballinacurra.

Gardaí in Limerick are appealing for information following a shooting incident at Hyde Road in Ballinacurra.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the face shortly after midnight and was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

A19-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is currently being detained at Roxoboro Road Garda Station under Section 30 - Offences Against the State.
